Job Description
Assist in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the coffee shop. Lead by example in regards to giving excellent service to guests, following all recipes and procedures to the letter, and maintaining a professional work environment for the staff of the coffee shop, as well as the staff members of all other Riverside Adventure Co. operations (Delphina, Wisp, etc.) Assist the manager in providing comprehensive training for all new hires, as well as communicating to the manager when disciplinary action needs to be taken. Assist the manager in building a comprehensive drink and food menu for the Cafe, taking into account current trends in both coffee and general foodservice industries. Be able to reorder product from vendors when the manager is unable to do so. Research and source product from other vendors when in search of more affordable or higher-quality options. Provide immediate support and responsiveness when presented with guest concerns or complaints. Assist in the overall marketing of both locations on social media (Facebook/Instagram/etc.), ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accurate. Oversee loss prevention, ensuring that expired goods and excess waste is kept to an absolute minimum, and that any wasted product is accounted for. Helps maintain the upkeep of all equipment located inside the Cafe, including fridges, freezers, espresso machine, and point-of-sale system. Assists with monitoring housekeeping and sanitation standards. Follows proper cash handling and guest check procedures. Effectively communicates with everyone, from upper management to managers on duty and other Team Members, to guests, to vendors.
Minimum qualifications: Prior work experience in a cafe as a Barista or similar position. Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines. Must be able to take direction and delegate responsibilities. Strong leadership, motivational and people skills. Has demonstrated exceptional customer service. General food and beverage knowledge. Good math skills. Computer literacy and familiarity with restaurant management software.
Preferred qualifications: Prior work experience in Cafe or Coffee Shop.
Company transportation: Supplied staff boat or ferry transportation.
