Summary: The purpose of this class within the organization is to perform maintenance and upkeep on public grounds, green spaces and/or historic parks in for a department, division or work unit.
This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Essential Functions: Strives to be efficient and effective at balancing and meeting the common needs and reasonable expectations of core constitutes.
Contributes towards the department's mission by continuously striving to meet expectations, strategic goals and objectives.
Performs various maintenance functions on public grounds, greenspaces and/or historic parks in including, but not limited to cutting grass, making minor repairs, picking up trash, cleaning, planting flowers and trees, trimming trees/bushes, pulling vines and weeds, blowing leaves, and funeral services with possible work on Saturdays & Sundays.
Operates various equipment including, but not limited to stump grinder, mower, chainsaw, weed eater, trimmer, tiller and backhoe; performs maintenance on mowers and other equipment.
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED.
Six months in grounds maintenance or closely related experience.
License(s)/Certification(s): Must possess and maintain valid Driver's License.
