Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Instructional Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in improving literacy outcomes by supporting teachers and school leaders with professional development, coaching, and data-driven strategies. This role focuses on building capacity within schools to implement evidence-based literacy practices with fidelity. This position is slated to be in the San Antonio market, and will focus on multiple schools in the region to ensure excellent student outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and Facilitate Professional Development: Develop and deliver engaging professional development sessions to empower teachers and leaders with evidence-based literacy practices.
  • Collaborate with School Services Team: Work alongside team members to create and implement high-quality literacy instruction for diverse student populations.
  • Provide Coaching and Support: Offer ongoing, job-embedded coaching and feedback to teachers and leaders to strengthen literacy instruction and ensure fidelity of implementation.
  • Conduct Classroom Observations: Regularly observe classrooms to assess instructional practices, identify areas of strength, and provide actionable feedback for improvement.
  • Analyze Literacy Data: Collect, interpret, and utilize student literacy data to monitor progress, identify gaps, and inform instructional decisions.
  • Develop Literacy Improvement Plans: Collaborate with campus and regional leadership to create and implement data-driven plans aimed at enhancing literacy outcomes.
  • Design & Execute Saturday School: Develop a plan to execute Saturday school for all 5 San Antonio schools for 10 weeks to increase student instructional data.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required).
    • Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in literacy instruction.
    • Proven success in coaching teachers or leading professional development.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of evidence-based literacy practices and instructional strategies.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with educators and leaders.
    • Proficient in analyzing and leveraging data to drive instructional decisions.
    • Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective coaching techniques.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with classroom observation tools and protocols.

Benefits and Salary:

  • The salary range for this role is $45,000-$50,000
