The Junior DevOps Engineer must be able to meet the key criteria below: Location: 100% remote
Years' Experience: 0+ years professional experience
Education: Bachelor's in an IT related degree such as Computer Science or Software Engineering
Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Key Skills: - Familiar with Linux
- Familiar with Jenkins, Ansible, and other CI/CD technologies desired
- Familiar with scripting and automation languages such as Python, Bash, Perl, etc desired
- Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification
- Must be interested in and working in DevOps environment

Responsibilities - Takes direction from the DevOps Engineering Lead to migrate several applications into DevOps environments, either cloud or data-center based.
- Continue to learn and grow in the DevOps Engineering field
- Works with application teams to document application internal/external interface requirements for Development, Testing, Staging and Production environments
- Works with application teams to ensure compliance with High Availability and Disaster Recovery related concept of operations.
- Implements middleware application specific requirements as needed
- Implements migration efforts with application teams, including data migration.
- Maintaining and administering configuration management systems such as Enterprise GitHub.
- Must be able to learn DevSecOps tools and integration configurations:
- Infrastructure-as-Code using declarative languages (Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation, and/or CloudWatch)
- GitLab for end-to-end automation of CI/CD containerized pipelines
Qualifications - Must have a Bachelor degree in IT related field such as Computer Science or Software Engineering
- 0+ years experience
- Knowledge of the AWS Cloud environment
- Understanding of knowledge of Linux
- Experience with Object-Oriented programming languages and principles such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Angular and/or Boostrap
- Understanding of CI/CD frameworks (ie. Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Understanding of scripting and automation tools (ie. Bash, Python, Shell, Perl)
- Demonstrated understanding of IT management, administration, applications and system development lifecycles within a substantial IT environment.
- Must have strong communication skills and demonstrate desire to learn
Physical Demands and Work Environment While this position primarily involves sedentary work in an office environment and/or home-office environment, there are some physical demands associated with the role, including:
- Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment or materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.
- Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements.
- Additionally, flexible work arrangements may be available based on business needs.
- Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
